The influencers say Omega makes two watches worth owning. Daniel Craig disagreed. Handed the entire catalog for Skyfall, he passed on the marketing plan's dive watch and chose an Aqua Terra — same 38.5mm case as this one, same Calibre 8500 — and kept choosing it through the opening of No Time To Die.

He picked it for the same reason you will. No dive bezel for dives you won't make, no tachymeter for races you won't run. Just 150 meters of water resistance under a dress-watch face, a movement built from a blank sheet around George Daniels' co-axial escapement, and the white teak dial: clean and quiet straight on, then you tilt your wrist and the whole thing goes silver in the light. This is the first-generation reference, framed date window and brushed links, discontinued and sought out since.

Wear it in the lake in July, under a cuff in December, to every ordinary Tuesday in between. It was built to be a man's only watch, and it's good enough to hold the job.
